his is the renovation of a very simple house in a typical suburb, in Plettenberg Bay, South Africa.
The owners required a facelift with a living/working space where they could bake early in the morning.
The facelift was achieved by removing the front wall of the house and lifting the pitch of the existing roof, using the existing structure.
The front wall was replaced with a glass and timber framed wall.
The existing verandah was extended and a lap-pool built along its edge.
This was all enclosed with an all-weather fabric curtain.
A khoi fish pond and a viewing tower overlooking the sea were also incorporated.
